Annual Breathe for Britt Bandstand

5th Annual Breathe for Britt Bandstand

The 5th Annual Breathe for Britt Bandstand in Memory of Brian Kane got off to a great start when BFB was surprised with a $1,000 donation from Rock Out Cures, a long Island charitable organization. The day continued with great live music from father daughter duo Amanda and Jim Daly and the Sea Monkeys. Both Amanda and Jim and the Sea Monkeys are long time friends of BFB and we were happy to have them onstage again. New to the event this year were All Music Rock-n-Roll University bands ZoFolk and The Personality. These talented young bands put on an incredible show and were great additions to the Bandstand.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the CF community and celebrate the life of BFB founder Brian Kane. All proceeds will go to support Breathe for Britt programs.

Special thanks to Ed Skiseng and Brain and the Staff at Kaites. We also extend a huge thanks to the Daly family for introducing BFB to Rock out Cures.

4th Annual Breathe for Britt Bandstand

On Sunday October 27th, 2013 Breathe for Britt Foundation, the School of Rock of Port Jefferson and Silent Generosity hosted the 4th Annual Breathe for Britt Bandstand in Memory of Brian Kane at 98 North Music Venue. We had another great day of music by some of Long Island’s most talented musicians including Silent Generosity, Second Chance, The Amazing Live Sea Monkeys, Amanda & Jim Daly and the Port Jeff School of Rock students. Delicious food was provided by local restaurants and raffle baskets donated by great friends.

The Breathe for Britt Bandstand is now held in memory of Brian Kane. As founder and director of the organization, the annual event was a day he looked forward to each year. The Bandstand has become a chance for the Breathe for Britt Foundation to celebrate the legacy of giving Brian left behind as we continue on with his mission of helping those with cystic fibrosis.

100% of the proceeds will go to Breathe for Britt programs, benefiting Long Island families affected by Cystic Fibrosis.

1st Annual Breathe for Britt Bandstand

The 1st Annual Breathe for Britt Bandstand was a great day of music and food, raising both awareness about cystic fibrosis and funds to benefit those affected by the disease. The event, held at Mulcahy’s in Centereach included performances by three awesome bands: Silent Generosity, The Kick and JP Blues Band.

Plenty of delicious food was on hand, donated by many of the families who came out to support Breathe for Britt. Kids (and adults!) were treated to face painting by Holly Patrone Swiderski, manicures by Annie and friends, games and prizes. The raffle table was busy throughout the day, with lots of prizes to win from concert tickets to jewelry and a 50/50. Special thanks to Doctor Germana who won the 50/50 and donated her winning ticket back to BFB!

Gimmie-A-Break! Day recipient Annie performs with Silent Generosity

The afternoon was kicked off by none other than The Kick who rocked the house followed by the very talented JP Blues Band. The final band to perform was Silent Generosity, winners of both WBAB’s Homegrown Superstar competition and WRCN’s Rock Idol. Halfway through Silent Generosity’s set, a very special guest was called up on stage for a surprise performance. BFB met Annie when she was chosen for a Gimmie-A-Break! Day this past May. Annie brought down the house singing The Climb by Miley Cyrus.

Breathe for Britt would like to sincerely thank everyone who participated in the event: Silent Generosity, JP Blues Band and The Kick who all donated their time and talent to make the BFB Bandstand happen, Pat Mitchell of Mulcahy’s Pub & Concert Hall (Centereach Location) who donated the venue, Erik Rooney who traveled all the way from Connecticut to join Silent Generosity for The Climb, Ed & Caren for all of their support and generosity, all of our volunteers and all who donated food and gave their heart and time to bring it all together!!! Thank you for making the 1st Annual Breathe for Britt Bandstand a great day!
