Gimmie-A-Break! Day
Gimmie-A-Break! Day is meant to do just that- give children with CF and their families a break from the stresses of life with a chronic illness by providing them with a special day on us.
Here’s how it works... Each month a different “day out” is given to a patient with cystic fibrosis at the Cystic Fibrosis Center of Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park. The Gimmie-A Break! Day package consists of a special activity for friends and family to enjoy. Past GAB days have included sporting events, concerts, day at a museum, movie night etc.
We are proud to have provided GAB packages to over 50 families since BFBF was founded in 2008.

Matthew’s Gimmie-A-Break! Experience started over the summer with weekly guitar lessons at the School of Rock and a tour of WBAB/WBLI studios. His BFB rockstar adventure concluded as he performed a Michael Jackson set with SOR at Mulcahy's in Wantagh in January. He ROCKED it on stage- go Matthew!
